SUAR SANUBARI, SH, LL.M, MCIARB

Suar holds a Sarjana Hukum (LLB) degree from University of Indonesia and a Master of Laws degree in Comparative and International Dispute Resolutions (LLM) with merits from Queen Mary University of London—which he undertook under full scholarships from Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP) administered by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia.

Prior to joining Rosetini & Partners, he was deputy managing partner in a law firm specializing in Chinese investments. He has worked for an Indonesian firm affiliated with a Silver Circle law firm, a leading Indonesian dispute resolution boutique law firm, and a start-up law firm. He was the first associate seconded to a Singaporean law firm when working for the start-up law firm in 2010.

He is a qualified Indonesian advocate and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). He specializes in dispute resolution practices, including litigation and arbitration. He has represented clients from various industries in high profile cases with complex matters involving multiple jurisdictions issues before Indonesian courts and law enforcement agencies as well as international arbitration fora. He has a good understanding of transnational cultural nuances when dealing with clients and counterparts from diverse backgrounds.

Suar has written and published several articles on litigation and dispute resolution in reputable publications. His LLM dissertation Arbitrator’s Conduct on Social Media was published in Oxford University Press’ Journal of International Dispute Settlement Vol. 8, Issue 3, September 2017.

Beyond his professional life as a lawyer, he is a passionate traveller, an avid reader, a photography enthusiast and plays military simulation airsoft. He exercises regularly to maintain his physical and mental condition.
